Working on fics after I update. Perhaps locking myself in my room will help...
Cut for excessive babbling and fangirlish-ness.
Went over to Christine's house, helped to do hair for WARPED TOUR. As my dad is crazy old fashioned, I can't dye my hair, but I helped marginally. Stoie now has red-blonde-purple hair, and Christine's is cherry red. I got silvery washout stuff, and Lynn's hair was braided. Learned how to play clock solitare.
WARPED TOUR, yay! That was my first rock concert, sad as it sounds. It was amazing. We saw Fall Out Boy, Hawthore Heights, Thrice, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE (yayez!), and lots of others that I can't remember at the moment. Oh yeah, Motion City Soundtrack, too. Everythnig was great until around 6:30-7:00, when guess what? POURED RAIN. It was thundering, lightning, hail, and cold-ass rain, coming down for ten minutes straight, at least. Everyone had to run for cover, first to the merch tents set up everywhere (we'd been chilling with a local band for a few hours earlier, so we had somewhere to go), helping hold them down, then to the amphitheatre when the lightning got too bad. As I said, about ten minutes afterwards, it started slowing up, so we decided to stay rather than call for our ride. While waiting for the outside stages to start up again, someone started a mud pit. Forced Stoie and Christine to dive in, which was actually rather stupid. Outside stages didn't start up again, and as there's not enough room to mosh/crowdsurf/whatever, we called early for a ride anyway. We stationed ourselves outside a drinking fountain and washed the mud off, so we wouldn't get the car dirty. Helped the guy who started the mud pit wash off as well. (His name was Matt, and he was hot. Just so you know.) Sat outside near the road and waved at people leaving. Lots of people waved, quite a few flicked us off, and one flashed a sign that said 'Flash Your Tits', which one of us did (they shall remain nameless at this point.) God my friends are weird. But on another point, what kind of person has a sign ready-made that says 'Flash your Tits'? Honestly, society today.
My verdict? It was really fun. I was in the crowd around the stage for MCR, and it was like a huge adrenaline rush. It was even better when I caught glimpses of Gerard. The only bad point of the day was that I didn't get to buy anything because all the tents closed down after the rainstorm. Ah well, that was bad foresight on my part. Next time I'll do better.
Wednesday at 4:30 I volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House. They were doing a fundraiser, and I went with my youth group-thing. I worked the ball toss, which was next to the bounce house, so it got a decent amount of people. The cutest kid I saw was named Mark, he was perhaps two. He was with his grandfather and mother, and he would grab the balls, walk right up next to the cardboard cut-out and place them through. Then he'd go to the other side and do the same thing. He was adorable. Then we all hung around for a half-hour, eating. Cory, one of our advisors, told my sister and I that RENT is coming to our town next year sometimes, with about a third of the OBC (we're RENTheads, the three of us). Then he burst out into song, which confused the rest of the group, and called someone's parent about dating, just to tease her and him. The mother already knew about their dating, so it was cool. Went home and slept like the dead.
Friday will be posted later, as its very long and I have to go write.
